Worldwide general availability with usage-based Copilot Credit billing.

Copilot Cowork (GA)

An AI teammate for long-running, multi-step work. It turns your intent into a structured plan and executes it across email, meetings, files, calendar and Teams — with you in control. GA adds model choice, Skills, Plugins, Purview integration, branded templates and image creation.

Wave 3 — agentic Office

Copilot moves from assistant to agent inside Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook — creating, editing and refining whole documents, spreadsheets, decks and emails end-to-end rather than just answering prompts.

Copilot Credits (usage-based billing)

Cowork and agent usage is metered in Copilot Credits at $0.01/credit. Buy prepaid 25,000-credit capacity packs ($200/mo) or pay-as-you-go, with the P3 pre-purchase plan for committed, discounted volume. Per-interaction rates vary by model, grounding, tools and runtime.

Pricing updates

Microsoft 365 Copilot remains a $30/user/mo enterprise add-on (annual). Copilot Business for SMBs is $18/user/mo (promo through Jun 30, 2026; then $21) or $25.20 monthly. Cowork sits on top, billed by usage.

Multi-model choice

Pick the engine per task: OpenAI GPT-5.5 (Instant for low-latency, Thinking for hard problems), Anthropic Claude Opus 4.8 and Sonnet 4.6 for complex long-running work, and a cost-optimised Cowork 1 model arriving soon.

Researcher & Analyst agents

Two reasoning agents: Researcher tackles complex multi-step research across your work data and the web; Analyst acts like a data scientist, turning raw data into insights and exposing its query code.

Work IQ & tenant-graph grounding

Higher-quality grounding via retrieval-augmented generation over your tenant-wide Microsoft Graph (including connector data), so agents answer from current, org-specific context. Billed at 10 credits/message when enabled.

Agent 365 + Microsoft 365 E7

A unified foundation for secure AI and agent governance at scale, GA in 2026 — registry, security and lifecycle management for the growing fleet of Copilot agents across the org.
